Lecturer in Adult Nursing at Hull University

Kevin joined the University of Hull in 1997 to manage the ENB 941 Programme Care of Older Adults. He had previously worked in Child Protection Social Work for the Humberside Authority and as a Senior Manager in the Disability Service of the Employment Service running a Staff Training Unit and managing a group of Rehabilitation Social Workers in the London & South East Region. From 2008-2011 Kevin took the role of Academic theme Lead for Policy in Practice in the Faculty of Health and Social Care.

Teaching interests related to Caring Science

Kevin teaches Social and Health Policy and Safeguarding Children across the curriculum of the Faculty of Health and Social Care. He also teaches Leadership and Management at Masters level and has in the past been Programme Lead for the ENB 941 Care of Older Adults and collaborated with the Social Work Department on a variety of educational initiatives such as the Post Qualifying Award in Child Care.

Research interests related to Caring Science

Whilst Kevin's responsibilities have mostly been confined to teaching and learning or scholarly activities he has been involved in collaborating over Research into Mental Health and Employment in the Nottingham Region in 1998 with the local Training and Enterprise Consortium and with Professor Roger Watson on Research into Sure Start initiatives in South Humberside in 2007/08. Kevin was also instrumental in his time as Academic Theme Lead for managing, organising and presenting three Academic Conferences at the University of Hull. The three conferences on the subjects of Policy, Positive Mental Health and Innovation and Change in Education were produced in partnership with the Hull City Healthcare Partnership, The East Riding Health Authority and the local Strategic Health Authority.
